The goal
The main objective of this project was to design a digital platform that facilitates local trading, while promoting sustainability and community engagement. Streamlining the process of exchanging items and services, the platform aims to help users declutter their homes, reduce waste, and foster a sense of community by connecting individuals with similar interests. With a focus on eco-consciousness, the platform not only provides an efficient way for users to find and list items but also encourages positive environmental impact through trade and reuse.
The process
To ensure the platform would meet the needs of its target audience, I began by conducting thorough user research. Through surveys and interviews, I gathered valuable insights on user preferences, trade behaviors, and motivations. I also analyzed competitor platforms to identify unique opportunities for improvement. This research helped me define user personas, ensuring that the design would prioritize ease of use, sustainability, and community interaction.
After gathering the necessary insights, I focused on the platform’s user experience and visual design. The first phase involved sketching wireframes and creating low-fidelity prototypes to outline the platform’s core structure and user flows. Once the layout was validated, I moved on to high-fidelity prototypes, integrating eco-friendly colors, modern typography, and intuitive navigation. I iteratively tested the designs with users, making refinements based on feedback to improve usability and overall satisfaction.
